Scope

This policy describes how Tater Tube Player handles information on supported platforms, including Steam, Apple TV, and Google TV. Tater Tube Player is a client for a Tater Tube Server selected and operated by the user.

The Player does not require a Tater account and does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or tracking technology. Tater Totterson AI LLC does not collect personal information through the Player.

Data kept on your device

To remain paired and load quickly, the Player stores the server address, player name, server-issued pairing credential, artwork, catalog responses, and viewing state on the device.

Apple TV pairing credentials are stored in the system Keychain. Other supported platforms use operating-system-protected application settings. These records are not sent to Tater Totterson AI LLC.

Communication with your server

The Player sends its pairing credential, playback capabilities, catalog requests, playback requests, and viewing progress directly to the Tater Tube Server selected by the user. That server may record normal network and playback logs under the server owner's control.

Authenticated requests are not forwarded to a different host or port during a redirect. Private-network servers may use local HTTP; servers outside the local network must use HTTPS.

Optional services

Features such as Discover, metadata matching, and Tater Picks appear only when the server owner configures their related services. Requests for those features are handled by the user's Tater Tube Server according to the settings chosen by its owner.

Tater Picks may use a local AI model or an external AI provider configured by the server owner. The Player communicates with the user's server, not directly with an AI provider. Any independently configured provider is governed by its own privacy policy.

Your media

Tater Tube Player does not upload, host, or redistribute the user's media. Video, audio, artwork, metadata, and live-channel information are requested from the user's Tater Tube Server. The server owner controls that server, its media, its logs, and any services connected to it.

Platform services

Apple, Google, Valve, and other distribution platforms may independently process account, installation, device, purchase, or usage information under their own privacy policies. Tater Tube Player does not use platform account information for advertising or analytics.

Your choices and local data

Choose Disconnect or Forget Server in the Player to remove its saved pairing information and cached content. Uninstalling the app removes its remaining application data according to the platform's normal behavior.

Information retained by the user's server or an optional service must be managed by the server owner or through that service.

Changes to this policy

If Tater Tube Player's privacy practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date above will be revised. App-store privacy disclosures will also be updated when required.
